In 7.2.2 "The ILCA 6 Grand Master and ILCA 6 Great Grand Master age category will be split into 2 fleets
and will sail a Qualifying series followed by a Final series. See SI Addendum A. These fleets will
sail separately, each in their own starting group."
This is not reflected in the starting order at Alfa Racing course? Please clarify. |
This is corrected with SI Amendment 2. ILCA 6 Grand Master fleet will be split into 2 fleets, but not ILCA 6 Great Grand Masters fleet. ILCA 6 Great Grand Masters will sail as one fleet. |

The outer course diagram shows mark 1a but does not list it as a required mark in the written listing of required marks. Is there a required rounding of 1a on the outer course, and if not, why is it shown on the diagram? |
The O2 course description doesn't show mark 1a as a mark of the course. Mark 1a is shown in the diagram because it might be in the water for the course I2 start. Peter van Muyden |

Is there a fleet split planned for ILCA7 GM for the practice race? The Q& A indicates fleet splits will be posted at reg close at 1300 today, but practice race is scheduled for 1400. Where on the ONB will the fleet split be posted? What section? |

Good afternoon, if it is possible to bring a dry-bag in the race commigte everyday. The purpose is to bring food and water. Regards. |
Sorry but it’s impossible to do for 460 sailors. |

1)In order to reduce the chaos of launching and landing could starting areas have different race start times?
2) if one is a No, could there be:
a) more volunteers for trolleys to collect at launch AND then organize them into numbers so on return they are easily distributed- this could also be improved by having specific number groups assigned a slip way on return.
OR
b) All private trolleys launch from one slip way only so stacked in one place and all those with charter trolleys that can mix and match can launch from any and get stacked separately.
All charter trolleys are not to be marked up with anything other than event and charter stickers / tags to stop people ‘owning’ them. |
Thank you for your suggestions. We will try to find the best solution but it is very hard to satisfy all 455 sailors with different ideas and solutions.
Currently we are following the rules in SIs as written. |

In the sailing instructions it says that initial fleet allocation will be done by a seeding committee.
It is apparent that the technique used for this has been to use a list in order of sail numbers, so there has been no consideration of the ranking of sailors in their nation etc.
Can you explain this decision please? |
The decision was made to seed the boats by sail number. We decided that this method produced the best random allocation. Peter van Muyden |
