Technical Committee
In the class rules it states one camera is allowed onboard and I would like the option of using my camera at this event. However, most cameras (including mine) have WiFi and Bluetooth so you can watch the footage back on shore. SI 2.3 reads:

2.3 [DP] While afloat, a competitor shall not carry equipment capable of making or receiving voice or data transmissions, except for equipment provided or approved by the organising authority.

This wording leads me to believe I am prohibited from using my camera, given the device is capable of data transmissions (even if it is not active until back on shore).

Please can you clarify if cameras with WiFi and Bluetooth are approved by the organising authority?

Many thanks.
Unless provided and approved by the organising authority, cameras with WiFi and Bluetooth are capable of data transmissions and therefore will break SI 2.3, whether or not, the WiFi or Bluetooth is activated while afloat.
