Please would you clarify the discard system that applies. In the SIs for this event it says in 18.2 "A boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score(s) as follows: [followed by a table]. In the SIs section 7 "Format of racing". mentions "The event consists of an Opening series, where ILCA 4 Boys will be split into 2 fleets and ILCA Girls will be split into 2 fleets and will sail a Qualifying series followed by a Final series. See SI Addendum A.". In the NoR it says (section 8 Format "8.1 The event may be split into fleets, to sail a qualifying series followed by a final series.". The wording in the NoR and SI for this event appears similar to, but not identical to, the wording for the 2024 ILCA 4 Youth Worlds. |
The discard system in SI 15.2 applies to the Opening series and therefore there will be just one discard in the Opening series (event). |

Would it be possible to transparently disclose (on the Results sheet for the day) the wind direction & speed, the current direction & speed, and the course to Marks 1 & 3 at the beginning of each race of the day, at least for the final day of racing? Thanks. SG (ex-drLaser.org) |
